Connoisseurs of Spanish Revival, medieval joust or shabby chic / vintage chic decor will appreciate this unique, heavy, iron-cast table lamp depicting a figure on horseback charging with a lance on point.  The rider's costume hints at a possible Spanish origin and the character'
s face is hidden behind a red shield that complements a crimson sleeve and boot.  The reverse side shows the helmet and visor tucked behind the shield.  The trodden grass below the galloping hooves also retains its original leafy green.  The wide lamp base exhibits a generous depression for key, coin and accessory keep.  The joust lance is straight and remarkably free of damage, including breaks and bends.  The heavy-duty original harp is in great condition less a slight bend to the threaded top.
A near century of surface wear has created a dreamy-style of shabby chic and vintage chic colors quite popular among collectors of distinguished yet understated off-white country finish.  I have disassembled, cleaned and reassembled the antique socket with a fresh cord set.  I have added 3 felt bumps to the base bottom to protect delicate surfaces.  Finial adapter assembly, hand-finished vented vase caps and finial are further additions and enhancements and I'll include them with the purchase.
All fittings are tight, the lamp stands straight and is presently in good working order

I have given it a cursory cleaning and leave the rest to the buyer's discretion.
An optional art glass shade is included in the photographs for proportional information and shade inspiration.

I made the art glass shade in my glass blowing studio in 2020.  I acquired this fixture with a handsome hoard of lamps and period parts from established antiquities dealers over the years for my lighting business. I am saddened by its departure but also delighted it may be lovingly received and put to good service by new caretakers.  This listing is for a genuine artifact of a bygone era that will be a pleasure to welcome into a new home.
